Why I Write...
Illuminated in 1986 after a "Damascus Road experience," I started DesertStream Publications in 1992 as a publishing ministry based on a prophecy I received in 1987 from Charles and Paula Slagle, two prophetic psalmists from California who were visiting the church.
Hallelujah, I was going to be "great man of God," with a worldwide ministry! Boy, did I have a lot to learn about God and his ways :-) I was still a "child" at the time...with a lot of growing up to do.
Whether you believe in God or prophesy, at least you know the origin of DesertStream Publications...and why I write.
With whatever time I have left on earth, I plan to complete my mission, passing on the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of God and his ways.
I hope God isn't too disappointed at the delay.
It's only taken 30 years...but here I am, Lord.

At the Sunday evening service, Charles wheeled around and pointed directly me and said: "Doing one thing a little different tonight. I don't know anything about you sir, but it kept coming to me that writing and printed materials will pour forth from you both, and in what you write and speak the gospel will be heralded and heard in many quarters of the world."

I didn't think much about it until I had a vision of a barren tree, and the Lord speaking to me: "Son of man, what do you see?" A tree in the desert, said I. "So are my people like trees in the desert, whose fruit withers for lack of water. Behold I have made you a stream in the desert, that the desert may be filled with my glory. And they who drink of the water that I send them shall grow, and they that grow shall bloom and blossom. And they shall be called a fruitful garden and trees of righteousness. And all the world will know that I have done this, saith the Lord."
